Baking cookies over the holiday season has been a tradition in my family for as long as I can remember. First with my mum, and then for more than twenty years with my cousin. My cousin Allison and I have done some pretty fancy baking over the years - I am including a photo or two here from some of our efforts. However, there has always been a special place in my heart for the shortbread my mother and I baked together. It isn't fancy, but it is tasty! I thought this year I would share it with you. Shortbread

1 cup icing sugar

1-1/2 cups cornstarch

3 cups flour

1 cup shortening

1 cup butter

1 tsp vanilla

Bake at 300 for 20 min.
